The Somali Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) believes that public cooperation is the backbone of effective policing and crime prevention. That’s why the CID has launched several community engagement and awareness initiatives designed to build strong partnerships between law enforcement and the people.

The CID encourages citizens to:

Report suspicious activities and criminal behavior

Use confidential crime-reporting hotlines

Participate in public safety campaigns

Collaborate with community leaders and local organizations

Through this engagement, CID aims to create a crime-alert, responsible, and safety-conscious society. Community policing helps bridge the gap between the public and law enforcement, fostering trust, transparency, and shared responsibility.

The public’s participation helps CID make better-informed decisions, respond quicker to incidents, and ensure justice is served swiftly and fairly.
